Musicians taking the "bling" outta diamonds

You may remember long ago I posted my rant on diamonds and how they are useless for anything other than drilling, sanding or cutting glass. Well, it seems to be the hot topic of musical artists today. Check out Kanye West... he's one of the biggest names in rap today, he has a song called "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" where he's talking about blood diamonds and now UB40 has a song called "Bling Bling" also singing the punishments of diamonds.

Looks like it might be catching on! If the glamorous aren't wearing diamonds, then the followers won't want them either. (Don't be surprised if you see an attempt by the diamond companies to push these rocks even HARDER in the near future.)

PS> OH! The one that kills me... I was walking through a mall a couple of weeks ago and saw a little sign outside of a jewelry store. The sign had a photograph of a pile of little buttons or pins that said the words "I AM Loved" or something like that. It was promoting diamond sales. ACK!

Well, what can I say? I'm a geek... i don't watch team sports... But I'll be damned if my wife and I didn't watch the last 3 minutes of the game GLUED to our couch! It was exciting as a mutha! When we first tuned in I said, "If Austin looses this it's gonna be a crappy day tomorrow", but thanks to the crazy, mad, skillz of Vince Young & team it's gonna be mostly sweet with a slight chance of giddy.

Way to go guys! GO HORNS! (hey! that feels kinda good!)
