Reflections on my trip to Mexico

(Hundreds and Hundreds of tiny houses)

One thing that made an impression on me, was a little village we ran into just outside of Monterrey. Not sure what the name of the area was, but it was a miner's village. They had just put up hundreds of homes for the mining familys. Each was about $20k US and smaller than my living room & kitchen put together. Here families of 2 or 10 might live, elbow to elbow. I think it made such an impact because we just finished buying a house here in Austin. When we were shopping, we had to find a place that was close to shopping and parks and stuff. These houses were close to dirt (see bottom pictures)

Here is a shot of the front of three houses. No, I'm not using a wide lense. We estimated each to be about 500 square feet. We actually went into one. It was as spacious as a large tent. Very easy to furnish.

Here is the housing complex across the street.

(the fancy two stories)

And you have to zoom-in to this photo to see what I'm talking about when I say HUNDREDS.

(It was like a military barracks)

Do you live in a small house in Mexico?

Just kidding. I see you live in TN and that you like to draw and sing and you often feel lazy. Your name is BJ and you're a newly inducted high-school girl.

Well, SNAP OUTTA IT BJ! Quit being lazy! Your WHOLE life is ahead of you! Now GET OUT THERE and START INTERNING! Rub some elbows! Meet and greet! CHOP-CHOP! I wanna see 3 job offers by the end of the week! You don't wanna be a miner in Mexico do ya?! Then GIT TO IT!

Those are some small homes. Seems creepy in a way, like life can be minimized. I suppose my own home looks like a mansion by comparison.

Hey Stacy! Welcome back... Have you noticed? Post a little piece about small houses in Mexico and suddenly it turns into a cheap spot to publicize your blog! Now we've got Benjamin Franklin Gates. Umm...yeah. The money obsessed "Nappy Egg" who is also in LOVE with the movie "National Treasure"... a movie that was rated "Rotten" by RottenTomatoes.com. Who are you "Nappy Egg"? OR as it translates into UK English "Diaper Clothes Peg". You took NOT the time to enter anything in your "About Me".

BJ was lazy... but at LEAST she had the energy to put some stuff in her "About Me"!!! You, my friend, are BELOW lazy. You'd be like a sloth on Valium and Indica. TO THE MINES WITH YOU! And NO house... You have to sleep in the mine with the coyotes.
